The reception will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2020, from 5:30 to 6:30 P.M. The student recognition ceremony will begin at 5:45 P.M. in the Museum’s Wilson Auditorium. I hope you will encourage your students to bring their families to the reception for the corridor. Works included in the exhibition need to be picked up by Friday, April 3, 2020. Judging and Selection of the Winner

Teachers please give our young creative STEM students the opportunity to have his or her artwork featured on the Elmore Countywide STEM/STEAM Day Website. Look at the information below for entering the Elmore Young Engineers STEM Logo Contest.
Purpose:
The logo will be used for the contest website, contest t-shirts, and for the contest printed materials. The logo needs to represent Elmore Young Engineers.
Ideas for teaching about creating Logos:
- How to create Logos
- Famous logos and the companies they represent
- Research graphic artist and their careers.
Eligibility:
The contest is open to all students in the Elmore County School System (virtual school included). Entries should be the work of one individual student only...no group submissions!!!!
How to Enter:
- Each teacher may have only one entry for each of the following grade level groups: 3rd--5th, 6th-8th, and 9th-12th. An in-class/school contest may be necessary to choose who will represent the classes for these levels. Multiple entries from the same class will not be accepted.
- Each entry must include the students (Last name, First name), grade level, teacher’s name, school name.
- Each entry must follow the submission guidelines and logo design requirements listed below.
- Each entry must be sent by student’s teacher to

Please adhere to the following guidelines for logo design. Share these guidelines with your students.
- SIMPLE: The logo entry must be simple with very few lines and colors. It needs to look good in black and white as well as in color. The logo design may be changed in color.
- FLEXIBLE: The logo design must be easy to resize if needed. The final version will need to be suitable for high-quality printing in small and large printable versions.
- UNIQUE: Entrants must ensure that their entry does not already exist as a logo or other copyrighted images.
- THEME: The logo entry must represent the Elmore Young Engineers STEM In Our School District
- APPROPRIATE: The target audience is primarily Elmore County School District and the STEM Community.
Logo Design Requirements
- Save and submit the logo in jpeg format only.
- The entire logo design must be 2 inches wide by 2 inches long. Larger entries will not be sent to the judges. Use a 2x2 template to help students understand the limitations of the logo size.
- The logo design must be drawn on plain white paper or cardstock. No lined notebook paper entries will be accepted for judging because of the inability to delete the lines.
- The logo may be drawn in black and white, in a single color, or with a few colors.
- The drawing lines of the logo must be distinct and clear. Since the logo will be reproduced as a very small image, it is very important to have a clear drawing. Remember to keep it simple.
- The logo must reflect the future of STEM in Elmore County.
- The logo design may use the letters Elmore Young Engineers.
Judging and Selection of the Winner
- The winning design entry will be selected by judges appointed for the purpose by the Elmore County School District. The judges are experts in the field of art and design. Their decision will be final. No further correspondence is necessary.
- The winning design entry will be recognized with an award presented to the individual student at the 2020 Elmore County STEM Competition and their Logo will be the official Logo for the Website.

Scholarship Description
- Students in grades K-12 are invited to take part in the Doodle 4 Google contest. From crayons to clay, graphic design, or even food, young artists can utilize any materials to bring their creation to life. Like all Google Doodles, each doodle must incorporate the letters G-o-o-g-l-e. One national winner will also receive a $30,000 college scholarship.
